PRESS STATEMENT
Srinagar May 13 – Peer Imtiyaz Hassan, on behalf of the Traders Association Batamaloo, has appealed to all transporters’ associations across the Kashmir Valley to promote the use of Urdu on passenger travel and display boards.
He stated that adopting Urdu for route names, destinations, and other display information would greatly benefit travelers, as the majority are familiar with the language. “Using Urdu will make reading easier and communication smoother for passengers,” he said.
The Association believes this step will preserve linguistic heritage while improving public convenience and accessibility in public transport across the Valley.
The Association looks forward to the cooperation of all transport operators in implementing this measure.
