Large Cache of Explosives Recovered in Baramulla’s Nilsar Kandi

Baramulla, May 24: Security forces on Saturday recovered a large quantity of ammunition and explosive material during a joint operation in the( Nilsar Village) Kandi area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

According to sources, a massive search operation was launched late Saturday afternoon by 52 Rashtriya Rifles, 53 Battalion CRPF, SoG Kreeri and other security agencies in the Nilsar orchard area of Kandi.

During the operation, forces recovered 14 RPG shells, nine buster explosives, two cups, three glass bottles and other incriminating material believed to be linked to militant activity.

Officials said the Bomb Disposal Squad was immediately called to the spot, following which the recovered ammunition and explosive material was safely removed from the area.

Meanwhile, police have registered an FIR vide number 23/2026 under sections 4/5 of the Explosive Act and 7/25 of the Indian Arms Act at Police Station Chandoosa. Further investigation has been taken up.
