Urdu Literary Workshop Held at Modern Public High School Srinagar to Promote Language and Culture

Srinagar 25 May : A one-day literary workshop on the Urdu language was organized by Modern Public High School, Balgarden Srinagar in collaboration with Kashmir Horizon, Nauq-e-Qalam, and Apple Valley. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, writers, poets, and Urdu lovers, with the aim of promoting the literary, cultural, and historical importance of the Urdu language among the younger generation.

The programme was organized in continuation of the vision and educational philosophy of the founder of the institution, Late Dr. M. L. Seeru, who strongly believed in the role of language and literature in preserving culture and shaping society. His contributions towards education and cultural awareness were remembered during the event.

The workshop began with a welcome address by the organizers, who emphasized that Urdu is not merely a language of communication but also a symbol of cultural identity and literary richness. Speakers and scholars highlighted various aspects of Urdu language and literature, discussing its historical evolution, contribution to poetry and prose, and its role in promoting harmony, creativity, and intellectual growth.

Special sessions on Urdu grammar, creative writing, and literary appreciation were also conducted, encouraging participants to strengthen their connection with the language. Interactive discussions and literary exchanges added depth and enthusiasm to the programme.
