Pattan, August 15: The Media Association Pattan was honoured with an award during the 80th Independence Day celebrations, the association decided to dedicate the honour to its member and journalist Ubaid Malik, who was injured by a falling pine tree while carrying out his professional duties.
The award was received by Sahil Nazir Wani, spokesperson of the Media Association Pattan by the SDM Pattan Gulzar Ahmad Rather,while in a decision taken collectively by the Media Association Pattan, the members dedicated the award to Ubaid Malik, a journalist associated with Early Times and a member of the Media Association Pattan. Ubaid Malik was injured while carrying out his professional duties after a pine tree fell on him during reporting.
President Media Association Pattan Shabroz Malik, along with other members of the association, said that dedicating the award to Ubaid was a gesture of solidarity and recognition of his commitment to journalism. The association members wished him a speedy recovery and said that the award would remain dedicated to him as a mark of support from the entire media fraternity.
