Imran Shah Vows to Redress Issues of NHM Employees, Calls for Regularisation of Daily Wagers

“Backs CM Omar Abdullah’s Earlier Statements on Long-Pending Employee Issues”

Anantnag, September 12: National Conference (NC) senior leader and Vice President Anantnag, Imran Amin Shah, today addressed a workers’ meeting at Panchayat Mohalla Teelwani Anantnag, reiterating his commitment to raising the long-pending issues of National Health Mission (NHM) employees, casual workers and daily wagers.

Imran Shah strongly backed the earlier statements of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah regarding the concerns of these employees and said their genuine demands deserve a sympathetic, practical and time-bound approach. He assured that the issues would be taken up at the appropriate level and efforts would be made towards a sustainable resolution, including a structured roadmap for the regularisation of eligible daily wagers and casual workers.

He said the government’s stated position that the concerns of casual and daily-rated workers cannot be ignored has generated hope among thousands of employees who have been awaiting a resolution for years.

On NHM employees, Shah said their demands concerning job security, regularisation, improved service conditions and fair treatment merit serious consideration. He highlighted the important role played by NHM workers in strengthening healthcare delivery, particularly at the grassroots level, and called for their legitimate concerns to be addressed through a constructive and time-bound process.

During the meeting, Shah also interacted with local residents and took stock of the problems confronting the people of Teelwani. He called for immediate attention to issues including shortage of drinking water, construction and improvement of lanes, and upgradation of the drainage system.

Meanwhile, several prominent workers associated with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) joined the National Conference in the presence of Shah and other party leaders and workers. Welcoming the new entrants, Shah said their decision to join the NC reflected growing confidence in the party’s leadership, policies and commitment to public welfare.

Imran Shah stressed that basic civic amenities and the concerns of employees must remain a priority and urged the concerned departments to address genuine public grievances promptly and within a time-bound framework.

He said strengthening grassroots infrastructure while addressing the legitimate concerns of employees is central to the National Conference’s vision of people-centric, responsive and accountable governance.
