In a deeply saddening development, renowned casual news reader Nazir Ahmad Najar, a respected resident of Nagam, Chadoora, passed away today after battling a prolonged illness for nearly two years. He was not only known for his calm, dignified voice on air but was also a dedicated teacher by profession, who shaped the lives of countless students throughout his service.
According to family sources, Najar Sahib had been undergoing treatment for a long time, and despite all efforts, he breathed his last on Thursday morning.
A man of humility, discipline and unmatched sincerity, Nazir Ahmad Najar earned immense respect within the media fraternity and the education community. His contribution to public communication as a news reader made him a familiar and trusted voice for thousands of listeners across Kashmir.
Tributes Pour In
The Shaharbeen News Team expressed deep sorrow over his passing, stating that the loss of Nazir Ahmad Najar is not only a personal tragedy for his family but also a significant loss for Kashmir’s journalistic and educational circles.

A large number of locals, admirers, colleagues and former students gathered to express solidarity with the bereaved family and offer prayers for the departed soul. Emotional scenes were witnessed as people recalled Najar Sahib’s kindness, dedication and love for his profession.
