Aga Syed Mujtaba Abbas Mosavi Calls for Early Resolution of MBBS, BDS Interns’ Stipend Issue in J&K

Srinagar, Sep 6: Jammu and Kashmir Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian General Secretary H.I.W.M. Aga Syed Mujtaba Abbas Mosavi has expressed serious concern over the issues faced by MBBS and BDS interns across Jammu and Kashmir, particularly their demand for an increase in stipend.

Aga Mujtaba said that MBBS and BDS interns form an important pillar of the healthcare system and represent the future generation of doctors. He said their dedication, long working hours, demanding clinical duties and significant responsibilities deserve proper recognition and support.

He said the present monthly stipend of Rs 12,300 is inadequate considering the nature and extent of responsibilities shouldered by young medical professionals. He expressed concern that the matter remains pending despite a government constituted committee having reportedly recommended an enhancement in the stipend.

Aga Mujtaba urged the administration to engage constructively with the interns, acknowledge the genuineness of their demand and take an early, fair and sympathetic decision.

He also stressed the need to ensure that patient care and essential healthcare services remain uninterrupted while the issue is resolved.
