Baramulla CEO cancels all picnic, camp permissions during summer break

Baramulla, Jul 1 : The Chief Education Officer (CEO) of Baramulla has cancelled all picnic and camp permissions that coincide with the upcoming summer vacations, in a directive issued on Wednesday.

According to an order bearing No. 18733, all permissions—both already granted and those under process—that fall between July 6 and July 19, 2026, stand cancelled ab-initio. The directive is applicable to all government and recognised private educational institutions across the district.

Heads of Institutions (HOIs) have been asked to reschedule their excursions and camps to dates after the vacation period, the order added.

The development comes a day after the Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) announced summer vacations for all schools in the valley from July 6 to July 19.

Officials said the decision was taken as temperatures continue to remain above normal in most parts of Kashmir, following persistent demands from parents and students for an early break.
