Baramulla Police Conducts Multi-Location Searches in UAPA Case, Seizes Electronic Devices for Forensic Analysis

Baramulla, July 09 : As part of the ongoing investigation into a case registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Baramulla Police on Thursday conducted coordinated searches at multiple locations in the district, leading to the seizure of electronic devices for forensic examination .

Official sources said the searches were carried out at the residences of four individuals in connection with FIR No. 43/2026, registered under Section 13 of the UAPA and Section 351(3) of the BNS at Police Station Baramulla. The premises searched included the houses of Faraz Ashraf Gojri, Waseem Ali Kar, Tanveer Ahmad Mir @ Kaka Mir, and Waseem Hussain Mir.

During the operation, police seized four mobile phones and one laptop from the searched premises. “The electronic devices have been secured for forensic examination to aid the ongoing investigation,” an official statement said, adding that the material seized would undergo technical analysis in accordance with the law .

The searches were conducted strictly in accordance with legal provisions, in the presence of Executive Magistrates and independent witnesses, officials said. The action forms part of Baramulla Police’s sustained efforts to investigate offences related to unlawful activities in a professional and transparent manner while safeguarding public order and national security.
