Anantnag, October 6: National Conference Senior Leader and Vice President Anantnag, Imran Amin Shah, today attended a workers’ meeting at Prakashpora, Anzvola, where several youngsters joined the National Conference (NC) in his presence.
Shah welcomed the new entrants into the party fold and expressed confidence that their participation would further strengthen the party’s grassroots organisation and its engagement with the youth.
Imran Shah said that the National Conference has consistently worked for the welfare of the people, with particular emphasis on youth development, employment, education, sports and greater participation of young people in public life.
He said the party leadership under Dr Farooq Abdullah and J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah continues to focus on development, democratic governance and addressing the genuine concerns of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
“The National Conference remains deeply rooted in the aspirations and welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. We welcome every young person who wishes to contribute constructively to society and strengthen democratic participation at the grassroots level,” Shah said.
Imran Shah urged the newly inducted youth to remain actively connected with the grassroots, listen to the concerns of the people and work with dedication to strengthen the party organisation at the local level.
“Why did we transform the Muslim Conference into the National Conference?” Imran Shah said, recalling Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah (RA). He said the transformation reflected a broader vision of an inclusive political movement representing people across communities and regions.
He also called upon NC workers to maintain unity, discipline and close contact with the public, saying that an active grassroots organisation is essential for taking forward the party’s political and developmental agenda.
On the occasion, Shah was accompanied by Prominent NC figure in Anantnag town Imtiyaz Ahmad Dada, and other senior party workers and functionaries.
