Man From Chandoosa killed after mishandling old unexploded shell near Gulmarg

Gulmarg : 27 June :A man was killed after an old unexploded shell detonated near Asha Post in the Sumli Wali Dhok area near Gulmarg in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday afternoon, officials said.

A senior police officer told the news agency (KNO) that the explosion occurred when the victim was allegedly handling the old shell.

The officer said the exact nature of the explosive device and the circumstances leading to the blast are yet to be officially confirmed.

The deceased has been identified as Zabir Ahmad Bajad, son of Mohammad Rafiq Bajad, a resident of Galibal, Chandoosa in Baramulla district.

Police and other security agencies have launched an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the explosion. (KNO)
